
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His first role was the role of a private detective Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988), where he was nominated for five times for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead actor in Drama Series. He was awarded the award in 1985. Since the year 2010, Selleck has appeared as New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the series Blue Bloods. Since 2005, he has played the role of Jesse Stone, a troubled police chief in small-town New York City. He has also been featured in nine television films that are based on Robert B. Parker novels. Selleck has also been featured in films as Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architect, in Three Men and a Baby (1987) as well as Three Men and a Little Lady (90). He has also appeared in over 50 other TV and film parts from the time of Magnum, P.I., including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball, and Lassiter. He played the recurring TV role of Monica Geller's love-interests Dr. Richard Burke and Lance White on Friends. In addition the role of A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. He also had a leading role in the television western The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran as well as a spokesperson for the National Rifle Association (NRA) and an endorser for advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
