Anita Ekberg

Anita Ekberg, a Swedish actor and actress who lived in Sweden from in the 1950s and 1970s. played in numerous European films and American films. Most famously, she is known for portraying the character of 'La Dolce Vita,' the comedy-drama film. The film was awarded an Oscar and the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival in 1960, and was also a commercial and critical success. Born in Skane and worked as model prior to embarking on her acting career. Eventually, she won the Miss Sweden Contest. In the US She began appearing in movies, albeit with a minor role. In the movie 'Abbott and Costello Take a Trip to Mars the actress received credit for her debut role as the role of a Venusian. That same year she won the Golden Globe in the category of "Most Outstanding Newcomer" in recognition of her performance in the film "Blood Alley. The actress was also featured in numerous other films throughout her career. These include the War Drama between Italy and America 'War and Peace', and the Western Film "Valerie" as well as the British Adventure crime film 'The Man Within The Man Inside,' as well as The French and Italian thriller The Dam on the Yellow River.
