Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian was born in Canada but grew up in the United States. She's worked as a media critic since 1995. Feminist Frequency is a web site with video and an online blog on the representation of female characters in popular media and popular. Anita Sarkeesian was a Canadian and American feminist media critique. Feminist Frequency, a website for education that examines women's role in the narratives of pop culture, is her brainchild. Additionally, she serves as the executive director. Destroying stereotypes about women are her main focus. But, she also explores the issue of specific harassment of women on the internet and for other groups who have been excluded. Sarkeesian holds a York University master's in social theological, philosophical and political thought. Apart from being an acclaimed public speaker, she has given presentations at TEDxWomen The XOXO Conference as well as the United Nations Broadband Working Group. At a young age, Sarkeesian was fascinated with gender issues and feminist thought. When she was still in school, in 2009, she launched her Feminist Frequency Website. This ambitious woman planned to create an online series on gender representation in games, and was then the victim of an online campaign to harass her. But the assault did be a deterrent, but it was a boost to her determination to be a feminist media critic. Her numerous contributions to the field of feminists were recognized by a variety of awards. Anita Sarkeesian won awards for her work as a critic of media and founded Feminist Frequency. Feminist Frequency is a non-profit organization that explores the portrayals of women in contemporary pop culture.
